For this reason, Yamaha Indonesia has not thought about bringing the Aerox EV to the Indonesian market.
“The Aerox EV is focused on India, yes. Because you can see from the design that it is different from the (Aerox) sold here, the model uses yesterday’s (generation) model,” said Rifki in Jakarta, as reported by Detik, Tuesday (23/12).

“Indeed, the Aerox EV is focused on being produced and sold in India. So far there are no plans (there are any plans to sell the Aerox EV in Indonesia),” he added.
The electric Yamaha Aerox or Aerox-e has launched in India, but the price reveal will only be made early next year.
In appearance, the Yamaha Aerox-e is still the same as the regular or petrol version marketed in India. The vehicle still carries the X-center concept which emphasizes its racing character and the accent remains aggressive with dominant and sharp headlights.
The only differences are in the driving components and the typical EV light blue touch in some parts.Apart from that, there is an ‘e’ emblem which indicates the vehicle is an electric motorbike.
The manufacturer has equipped the Aerox-e with an electric motor capable of producing 9.4 kw of power and 48 Nm of torque. Then the battery uses a 3 kWh lithium-ion with a dual configuration which, when fully charged, can cover a distance of 106 km.Meanwhile, the driving modes are ECO, standard and power.
Like the regular version, the Yamaha Aerox-e also has a boost mode button which allows the motorbike to get additional power when accelerating.Apart from that, interestingly, there is a reverse feature which makes it easier for drivers when they want to park.
The Yamaha Aerox-e is also equipped with a Y-Connect connectivity feature which allows the vehicle to connect to a smartphone via a Bluetooth connection. This feature allows riders to monitor the condition of the motorbike in real time via the cellphone screen.
Meanwhile in Indonesia, the Yamaha electric motorbike project is still in the testing phase which has been carried out since 2017 until now.
