‘Wilkerson→Koo Seung-min→Kim Won-joong’ LOTTE completes ‘3rd team no-hitter in KBO history’ against SSG

The Lotte Giants completed a “team no-hitter” with three pitchers, from starter Aaron Wilkerson to Koo Seung-min and Kim Won-joong.

Lotte snapped a three-game losing streak with a 1-0 shutout win over the SSG Landers of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan on Saturday. Their season record is 43 wins and 49 losses.

온라인카지노This is the third team no-hitter in KBO history, after the LG Twins on October 6, 2014 (vs NC Dinos) and the SSG Landers on April 2, last year (vs NC Dinos). Coincidentally, SSG, the team behind last year’s no-hitter, fell victim to the record this time around.

In a pitcher’s duel from the start, Wilkerson extended his hitting streak to a whopping 18 batters from the first to the sixth inning. He didn’t allow a single walk or hit while going through the batting order twice.

Wilkerson’s perfect game was interrupted in the top of the seventh inning. Leadoff hitter Shin-Soo Choo walked to load the bases. However, Wilkerson was unfazed by the first run he allowed. After a sacrifice bunt by Choi Ji-hoon, he got Choi Joo-hwan and Choi Jeong to fly out and strike out respectively to end the inning. However, he was unable to get any run support from the bats throughout the seventh inning and was unable to get the win.

Koo Seung-min, who took over on the mound, did his part in the top of the eighth, striking out the trio of Park Sung, Choi Jun-woo, and Han Yu-seom, and the long-awaited run came. In the bottom of the eighth, after a leadoff single by Lee Jung-hoon and a sacrifice bunt by Ko Seung-min, Yoon Dong-hee hit an RBI double to bring home Ahn Kwon-soo from second base.

Reliever Kim Won-joong, who came on to preserve the one-run lead, continued his streak. After getting the leadoff hitter Kim Sung-hyun to ground out to third base, he struck out the next batter, Cho Hyung-woo.

Kim Won-joong faced the final batter, Choo Shin-soo, and gave up a walk and a wild pitch to put runners on second and third, but first baseman Ahn Chi-hong, who caught the ball on Choi Ji-hoon’s grounder, stepped up to the plate. That, along with the team’s no-hitter, sealed the game.

SSG starter Kirk McCarty earned a Quality Start Plus with seven innings of three-hit ball, one walk and nine strikeouts, but the offense couldn’t capitalize and took the loss. Aside from Shin-Soo Choo, who drew two walks, not a single batter reached base.
