Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) announced
recalls
‘wholesale’ of 29 car models in Indonesia with different problems.The recall applies to vehicles with production years starting in 2021 for Toyota and Lexus models.
Henry Tanoto, Vice President of TAM, appealed to the owners of the vehicles involved to immediately take their cars to a repair shop for treatment.
“Currently, we have found that there are several vehicle components in certain Toyota and Lexus models of production years that require checking and replacement if necessary. With all humility, we invite customers to check them on our website, contact the call center, or come directly to the nearest official repair shop,” said Henry in a written statement, Friday (19/12).

Combination Meter Check
Via a monitor on the instrument panel, the vehicle is equipped with a combination meter that displays various information.Due to non-optimal programming on the combination meter, there is a possibility that unnecessary data is written repeatedly into the memory device while the combination meter is operating, causing an overload on the memory device.
It is possible that the monitor will not turn on when ignition-on and remain in that state permanently.As a result, customers will drive without information from the speedometer or certain warnings, which has the potential to increase driving risks.

Cabin Electric Heater Check
Vehicles are equipped with heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems that use electric heaters.Because the heater’s durability is limited, there is a possibility that the electric heater will fail if exposed to pressure for a long period of time, so that it will not function properly.
When the vehicle is operated at certain low temperatures, heating and defrosting performance may be reduced.This reduction in defrosting performance may result in frost, ice and/or fog not being completely removed from the windshield.
These conditions can reduce a driver’s visibility and increase the risk of an accident in certain driving situations.

Parking Assist ECU Check
ECU Parking Assist is part of the Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) which displays an image of the rear of the vehicle.The software in this ECU can cause the image to stop briefly when the vehicle reverses for a certain time after the ignition is turned on.
Second condition, the rear image does not appear at the next start if the ignition key is turned on and off within a certain time.This condition can increase the risk of a collision when the car reverses.

The inspection process for affected vehicles will be carried out by global Toyota certified expert technicians so that the process can take place quickly and safely.The estimated work time depends on the condition of the vehicle and its actions.
The entire inspection process up to the final check is completely free of charge.
