Vinfast Promises to Increase Investment of IDR 16 T in RI, Production of 350 Thousand a Year

, stated that he would again increase capital in Indonesia by more than US$1 billion or around Rp. 16.6 trillion (exchange rate Rp. 16,678).The fresh funds will be used to expand factories in the country.
Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, explained that this is an advanced phase, where production capacity can be increased to 350 thousand vehicle units per year to meet domestic market demand while opening up export opportunities.

Vinfast has just completed the first phase of investment, namely a vehicle factory in Subang, West Java worth more than US$300 million (Rp. 5 trillion) with an initial production capacity of 50,000 units per year.
This facility is equipped with an international standard integrated production line with advanced levels of automation and technology.The production area includes body welding, painting, assembly, quality inspection center and logistics warehouse.

“Localization is considered the main foundation for VinFast’s sustainability, as well as a real contribution to the targets of economic growth, industrialization and national job creation. With the operation of this factory, VinFast has built one of the most integrated electric vehicle ecosystems in Indonesia,” he said in Subang, Monday (15/12).
Apart from that, VinFast is also preparing a special area for a supplier park (supplier industrial area), which will become a center for developing suppliers and local industrial players.This area is planned to continue to be expanded to support in-depth and sustainable localization.
Chau continued that the Subang factory is projected to create 5 thousand to 15 thousand direct jobs, as well as thousands of indirect jobs in the supply chain and supporting services sectors.This will encourage Subang’s socio-economic growth as a new industrial center in West Java.
On the same occasion, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto appreciated Vinfast’s commitment to building an electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia.
“That is their commitment to invest another US$ 1 billion to increase capacity, which today was inaugurated to 50 thousand units. They will expand to 350 thousand units (production a year),” said Airlangga.
