, an electric car manufacturer from Vietnam, inaugurated
factory
The first in Indonesia, which was built in Subang, West Java.The company targets this factory to produce 50 thousand cars per year.
VinFast Indonesia CEO Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto said that the factory had been built over the last 17 months on a land area of 170 hectares.This factory makes Indonesia the second country after Vietnam as VinFast’s main production base.

“The factory was completed in 17 months. So the total land for the VinFast factory is 170 hectares but currently not all of it has been developed. Development will be carried out in stages, consisting of several phases,” said Kariyanto in Subang, West Java, Monday (15/12).
“In this first phase, we are developing approximately 9-10 hectares,” he said again.

He explained that the construction of the first phase of the factory had required an investment of around IDR 4.8 trillion.So it is not impossible that in the future VinFast investment will increase along with the expansion of the country’s production capacity.
“Then the installed capacity in the first phase is 50,000 units per year. That is the installed capacity. What level the production will be, of course it will adjust to market needs,” he said.
According to Kariyanto, his party will also prioritize local workers to work in their factories.
On the same occasion, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated that this step was VinFast’s long-term commitment in Indonesia.Their target is that the factory can expand until production reaches 350 thousand units per year.
“They will expand to 350 thousand units,” said Airlangga.
Apart from the domestic market, the Vinfast Subang factory will also act as an export hub to Southeast Asian countries and other regions.
