Indonesia opened his votes by refuting the statement of the Governor of West Java Dedi Mulyadi and Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman who issued their narratives setting a factory in the rice field area.Based on official data, it is said to be something wrong.
Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto, CEO of VIFAST Indonesia, stated that basically the company always complies with government regulations in running a business, including when establishing a factory in Indonesia.
“Vinfast always complies with, and will continue to uphold, a strong commitment to legal compliance and the environment in each of his project activities,” Kariyanto said in his written statement quoted Monday (8/25).
He parsed the issue that was previously revealed at a meeting between Dedi Mulyadi and Andi Amran allegedly not in accordance with the document of the establishment of the Vinfast factory in Indonesia.
“Based on all official documents that we have obtained to date, there is no determination of Sustainable Food Agricultural Land (LP2B) in an approved area as the location of our factory construction in Subang,” he said.
Even so Kariyanto claimed to still respect the direction of the Indonesian government.They also remain committed to maintaining communication with stakeholders.
“We appreciate the direction of the government and, as part of the investment and sustainable partnership in Indonesia, Vinfast is committed to always maintaining good communication with the authorities,” he said.
He added that the factory construction process was still running according to plan.
“And remain in the settlement path at the end of 2025,” he said.
Previously, Dedi Mulyadi Andi Amran Sulaiman held a meeting which discussed several things, including BYD and VIVAST investments in Subang.
According to Amran, some of the factory land used they are rice fields.Amran then said that his party would solve the problem so that investment continued.
“The Governor said that in Subang a car factory will be built with an investment value of around Rp33 trillion. Incidentally, some of the planned land is rice fields. We will resolve this obstacle together so that investment continues and open employment,” Amran said quoting

He also mentioned that if there will be an activity transfer of agricultural functions, then the land must be replaced at least three times.
“However, if there is a conversion of agricultural land, we emphasize that the land must be replaced at least three times the area of land that is diverted so that farmers still have proper replacement land,” Amran said.
