.The government has removed the transfer of name fee component in processing the name of a motorized vehicle.
The elimination of name transfer fees is a mandate of Law no.1 of 2022 concerning Financial Relations Between the Central Government and Regional Governments (HKPD).Written in Article 12 paragraph (1) of Law no.1 of 2022, the BBNKB object is the first handover of motorized vehicles.This means that those subject to BBNKB are new vehicles, not including used vehicles.
“BBNKB is only imposed on the first delivery of a motorized vehicle, while for the second and subsequent deliveries of motorized vehicles (used vehicles) it is not an object of BBNKB,” as quoted from the explanation of Article 12 Paragraph (1) of Law no.1 of 2022, Friday (7/11).

However, this does not necessarily mean that name change costs are free.Buyers still have to pay other tax components.
You should know that when you change the name of a used car, the costs are not just transfer fees.

There are at least six other tax components that are charged when changing a name, such as Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB), PKB opsen, SWDKLLJ (Mandatory Contribution to Road Traffic Accident Funds), STNK administration fees, and TNKB administration fees.
There are also transfer fees if the motorized vehicle is registered in a different region.
For PKB and PKB options, it depends on the type of vehicle.Then SWDKLLJ for cars is usually charged IDR 143 thousand.Furthermore, the STNK administration fee is IDR 200 thousand.
Then the TNKB issuance costs IDR 100 thousand, then the car BPKB issuance fee is IDR 375 thousand, while four-wheeled vehicle transfers are charged IDR 250 thousand.
Nevertheless, the elimination of name transfer fees still makes a profit.
The amount of vehicle title transfer fees will depend on the type and brand.The name transfer fee is around 1 percent of the purchase price.For example, for a car of IDR 200 million, the BBNKB fee is around IDR 2 million.
This means that for a car with a purchase price of IDR 200 million, the savings on title transfer fees will be IDR 2 million. The costs will also be different if the purchase price is higher.
