PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) officially started a cross-island cruising expedition entitled
Toyota Veloz Hybrid
Lintas Nusa at the Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara, Tuesday (2/12).This event marks the start of a long journey for one Veloz Hybrid unit from Mandalika to western Indonesia.
The Toyota Veloz Hybrid Lintas Nusa is a place to prove the capabilities of Toyota’s hybrid technology in dealing with various contours of Indonesian roads ranging from urban areas, rocks to mountains.
“The Veloz Hybrid EV trip across Nusa 2025 is a form of our appreciation to Indonesian families who have trusted Toyota as a mobility solution. This expedition also proves the Quality, Durability & Reliability (QDR) of Veloz which is now available as a Hybrid EV for all,” explained Marketing Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM), Jap Ernando Demily, in Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara.

The Lintas Nusa Team used a Veloz HEV to move from Lombok to Bali and Banyuwangi, then to Bromo, Yogyakarta, Bandung and Jakarta.After that, the journey continues to Sumatra, entering the Lampung area, heading to Palembang, Jambi, Bukittinggi, Lake Toba, and Aceh.

Apart from testing the Veloz Hybrid’s capabilities, the team will also explore natural, cultural and culinary tourism in each area they visit, as well as meet various local figures who are helping to advance the local economy, quoted in the official statement.
TAM Marketing Director, Hiroyuki Oide, said the expedition was proof that Toyota’s hybrid technology is very easy to use for daily driving needs without worrying about losing battery power like driving an electric car.
“We hope that the Veloz Hybrid EV can become a locomotive in encouraging the adoption of electrification in Indonesia. Assembled in Indonesia, the Veloz hybrid MPV will help drive the economy through the supply chain and supporting industries,” he said.
The Toyota Veloz Hybrid was officially launched at Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2025, Tuesday (25/11).For the price, the Veloz Hybrid V HEV is offered at a pre-book price of IDR 299 million and delivery starts February 2026. The Toyota Veloz Hybrid, which is the cheapest hybrid MPV from Toyota, comes in V and Q types.
All Veloz HEV types use the 2NR-VX engine which is capable of producing 91 Ps of power and 121 Nm of torque, while the electric motor is capable of producing 80 Ps and 141 Nm of torque.
