The Toyota Urban Cruiser EV has been officially launched in Indonesia at the 2025 Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW). So what about the fate of its twin, the Suzuki?

Dony Ismi Saputra, Deputy of Sales & Marketing, Managing Director of Suzuki Indomobil Sales, said that he had determined the right time to launch the car.

He said the eVitara is prepared to launch in Indonesia at an automotive exhibition early next year.The activities in question were not explained further, but they focused on the 2026 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS), in February.

“It was clear at one of the motor shows at the beginning of the year,” said Dony at ICE BSD, Friday (21/11).

The Suzuki eVitara was first introduced in Indonesia through the 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) which took place in July.
This product is an electric car in the form of an SUV with a length of 4,275 mm, a width of 1,800 mm and a height of 1,635 mm and is built on a new platform called Heartect-e.
Available in two battery options, but the highest variant of this car can cover a distance of 500 km on one electric charge.
At GIIAS 2025, Toyota also showed off the Urban Cruiser EV.However, at that time the two companies only used the two twin products as research and exhibition material.
As an initial stage, Suzuki will bring this car in its entirety from India, but the price has not been revealed.Reflecting on its twin, Toyota is marketing the Urban Cruiser EV with a price tag of IDR 759 million.
Dony ensured that Suzuki always strives to meet market needs for electrified vehicles, starting from hybrids and then battery-based electric cars.
“We are clearly presenting multipathway vehicles,” said Dony.
