The Lumin isn’t the only electric car model the new brand is bringing in
Changan
to Indonesia.Another model on the opening menu is the Deepal SO7, an electric SUV like the Lumin which will also be launched at the 2025 Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW).
Deepal SO7 is equipped with various advanced technologies, one of which is outlined in bold is a battery called the Golden Shield Battery.
Changan Indonesia explained that the Golden Shield Battery offers better safety from the risk of overheating, easy maintenance, faster charging process, long service life, high performance and optimal mileage.

This battery, which has been tested on more than 1 million units, is claimed to have never experienced a single overheating incident.Battery protection is supported by more than 20 AI algorithms that work simultaneously in the vehicle and the cloud to be able to detect potential battery problems early.

Apart from that, there is a dual-method safety mechanism which is useful for preventing thermal runaway, this provides an additional layer of protection for the driver and passengers.
Golden Shield Battery is designed to have a Cell-to-Vehicle (CTV) architecture which enables more optimal energy conversion with an efficiency level of up to 86 percent.This allows power to be distributed more effectively to the electric motor.
The Honeycomb Aluminum Shield structure protects the lower body up to three times stronger than C-IASI safety standards.
According to Changan’s internal testing results, the Golden Shield Battery can still work even after traveling a distance of 600,000 kilometers.High-Stability Standard Cell Cathode Coating technology allows battery cells to achieve more than 5,000 usage cycles.
The solid-state technology in the Golden Shield Battery offers up to two times longer service life than lithium-ion batteries, 30 percent higher energy capacity, and is predicted to reduce recharging costs by up to 50 percent in the next 10 years.

We want to ensure that every Changan Deepal S07 consumer can drive calmly, anytime and anywhere,” said Setiawan Surya, CEO of Changan Indonesia, in his official statement, Thursday (27/11).
Changan Indonesia is selling the Deepal SO7 with a 79.97 kWh Golden Shield Battery supported by an electric motor with 160 kW power and 320 Nm of torque for IDR 599 million.This car is given a traction battery guarantee of 8 years or 240,000 kilometers.
