Smiling Dodgers? SF Desclafani effectively out for season

The San Francisco Giants have an emergency on their hands.

The Giants have placed right-handed pitcher Anthony Desclafani, 33, on the disabled list, according to MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball (MLB)온라인바카라. Desclafani was placed on the 15-day disabled list (IL) on March 31 with a right elbow flexor strain. A subsequent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan reportedly showed unfavorable results.

MLB.com reported, “Desclafani received a platelet-rich plasma injection on July 7. He is expected to miss six to eight weeks and is likely done for the regular season. Desclafani was 4-8 with a 4.88 ERA in 19 appearances before his injury. He returned from the disabled list in early July with a shoulder issue, but the injury bug bites again.

San Francisco is 61-51 (.545 winning percentage) and in second place in the National League West. They trail the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers (63-46, .578) by 3.5 games. The Dodgers are in a full-court press for fall baseball, but the loss of Desclafani has hurt them. Logan Webb (9-9, 3.45 ERA) and Alex Cobb (6-3, 3.05 ERA) anchor the starting rotation, but Desclafani’s absence has taken some weight off the rotation.

In his nine-year big league career, Desclafani is 54-56 with a 4.20 ERA. He signed a three-year, $36 million contract with San Francisco in November 2021.
