Pujols Appointed Special Assistant to MLB Commissioner

Albert Pujols, who retired at the end of last season, is taking on a new career challenge.

Pujols will work with the Secretariat on a number of different topics. He will take on the role of mediating industrial relations, especially in matters relating to players from his native Dominican Republic.

Pujols played 3,080 games in 22 seasons in the major leagues, batting average of 0.296, on-base percentage of 0.374, and slugging percentage of 0.544. He had 703 home runs and 3384 hits.
