preparing a massive socialization strategy for the transformation of Motor Vehicle Owner’s Book (BPKB) documents from printed physical form to e-BPKB.
Head of BPKB Sub-Directorate, Regional Police Traffic Corps Directorate, Police Commissioner.Sumardji in Jakarta, Tuesday (18/11) said that the socialization was carried out because his party received many questions from people who were not yet familiar with the concept of e-BPKB as a digital document that is recorded as safe in the police system.

He said, e-BPKB not only minimizes the risk of counterfeiting, loss and damage, but also provides a more modern and integrated vehicle ownership administration system and is also equipped with high-level security features.

“Vehicle data is stored in a system that can be verified independently, quickly and accurately. This actually increases the reliability of the registration process,” he said.
However, uneven digital literacy is a major obstacle to public acceptance.
According to him, many people are not yet familiar with electronic documents, let alone understand the concept of digital data storage.
Therefore, the Traffic Corps Directorate will continue to expand education to ensure the public understands that e-BPKB is much safer and more practical.
In accordance with the direction of the National Police Traffic Corps Director Brigadier General Pol.Wibowo, the directorate is preparing various socialization strategies that are more massive and touch all levels of society.
Sumardji said that education was carried out not only through official Polri channels, but also through Samsat, dealers, leasing, the automotive community and social media.
It is hoped that this step can speed up the education process and public adaptation to the digitalization of BPKB. “We want to ensure that every vehicle owner truly understands the benefits of e-BPKB. This transformation is not just about keeping up with technological developments, but to provide faster, safer and more efficient public services,” he said.
