Los Angeles Angels’ Shohei Ohtani hit a home run in his final at-bat to lead his team to a come-from-behind victory, but fans reacted more to Ohtani’s slide than his home run.
The Angels rallied for a 13-12 victory in 10 extra innings against the Houston Astros in their 2023 Major League Baseball home game at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, California, U.S., on Saturday (16 June).
Ohtani, who had been hitting well over the past three games after a two-hit game at Houston on 15 May, went 1-for-5 with a home run, one RBI, one run scored and one walk.온라인카지노
Batting second in the lineup, Ohtani struck out, grounded out, struck out, and grounded out until his fourth at-bat in the seventh inning. He then hit a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth with his team trailing 9-12.

After Ohtani’s solo home run, the Angels tied the game at 12-12 and sent the game to extra innings.
In the 10th inning of the extra inning, Ohtani was hit by a pitch with runners on first and second. Ward’s grounder to the second baseman threw Ohtani out at second, but a throwing error by the opposing shortstop gave the Angels the game-winning run.
“The U.S. media released the video and praised it as ‘a victory of tenacity,'” the Japanese outlet The Anchor wrote.
“The opposing shortstop, who was trying to make a play for a double play, made a bad move to avoid Ohtani. It could be seen as a risky play, but Ohtani made it to the base. It was a precious moment that ended the game.”
We also looked at fan reaction. The media summarised reactions such as “Ohtani’s slide is working,” “It seems to have inspired the chant,” and “Ohtani’s nice slide that didn’t give up until the end.
