It doesn’t look like Mitsubishi will launch in Indonesia in the near future.The company is still considering plans to expand the country’s electrification segment without further certainty.
“For hybrid, we have considered the best time,” said Masaaki Fujiwara, Director of Product Strategy Division at Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) at Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2025 ICE BSD Tangerang, Monday (24/11).

According to him, it is not that Mitsubishi does not have hybrid electrification products to present to the Indonesian market.However, they are still waiting for the right momentum and time to release this car.
Mitsubishi has launched various hybrid models starting from the SUV, namely the Xforce, and the seven-passenger MPV through the Xpander and Xpander Cross in Thailand.

Most recently, this Japanese brand has released the Grandis with a mild hybrid and hybrid engine for the European market.
“We already have a hybrid product, and now we are studying when is the right time (to launch in Indonesia). So just wait,” he said.
The choice of hybrid cars in Indonesia has become increasingly diverse.Even the Japanese manufacturer, Toyota, has expanded the electrification segment by launching the Veloz Hybrid at GJAW 2025 with special prices starting from IDR 299 million.
This model could become the Xpander’s main rival if Mitsubishi incorporates hybrid technology into the car.
