also established an electric car factory in Malaysia, which they consider to be one of the strategic markets in the Southeast Asia region.Construction of the factory began several months ago, and the target is to operate in the second semester of 2026.
The factory being built is located at KLK TechPark, Tanjong Malim, with an area of 600 thousand square meters.

BYD owners also help reduce more than 62,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions every year, equivalent to planting nearly 2.5 million trees in neighboring countries.
The company’s journey in the country began with the launch of Atto 3 in December 2022. Since then other models have been released such as Atto 2, Seal 6, M6 to Sealion 7.
This Chinese brand has also built 39 sales and marketing outlets, as well as 24 after-sales service centers, equipped with 12 body & paint centers and a spare parts warehouse with more than 4,600 items stored.

BYD’s commitment does not only occur in Malaysia.The company has also established a factory in Indonesia, located in Subang, West Java with an initial operational target of 2026.
The construction of the BYD factory in Indonesia with an investment value of IDR 11.2 trillion and a production capacity of 150 thousand units a year is entering the final stage.
“Meanwhile, we have entered the final stage, and we have received an audit from BKPM (Investment Coordinating Board/Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming),” said Luther T. Panjaitan, Head of Public and Government Relations BYD Motor Indonesia at Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2025 ICE BSD, Friday (21/11).
“We are also now consistently coordinating with the Ministry of Industry,” he said again.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the progress of BYD factory construction in Indonesia had reached 90 percent.
