Allegedly no longer conducting electric car production activities in Indonesia since December 2024 in the midst of news of the financial crisis and bankruptcy experienced in the principle in China.
The car production report belonging to the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), Neta last produced cars in the country in November 2024 with only two units.After that the production was no longer recorded until July 2025.
Neta took Reliable Indonesia Motor (HIM) to produce two models of electric cars namely X and V in factories located in Pondok Ungu, Bekasi, West Java.
Announcement of cooperation between the two companies was carried out on November 27, 2023, as well as the first assembly scheduled starting from the second quarter of 2024. This cooperation will last until 2028.
Cooperation then gave birth to production for the two models for 2024 as many as 1,225 units.
However, Neta denied when confirmed related to Gaikindo wholesales data.
“The information is not true, until now Neta is still doing assembly,” said Fietz F Roboth, Brand PR & Digital Manager Neta Auto Indonesia via text message, Wednesday (8/13).
Meanwhile Jongkie Sugiarto, Deputy Commissioner HIM so far has not given responded when asked the truth of Neta’s production data in his factory.
Neta began sales in the country in November 2023 with the number of wholesales until December 181 units and retail for the last two months in the same year 166 units.
Entering 2024, Neta wholesales seemed no better because for a year only got 607 units.Specifically April, no one car distribution unit was recorded.
Then the retail was recorded smaller at 570 units and April also did not occur sales.Neta market share in 2024 both wholesales and retail was only 0.1 percent.
Entering 2025, Neta wholesales in January-June only 394 units and retail 314 units.
The dealer starts to close
Neta achievement in Indonesia supported by a sales network which up to 2024 ended there were 20 dealers in all strategic areas of Indonesia.But in April 2025, Neta closed the dealer located in Kelapa Gading.
According to Neta the decision to stop the operational dealers in North Jakarta is a form of operational adjustment.
Kelapa Gading dealer is Neta’s first sales network built in Indonesia in 2023.
“Operational adjustments to the Neta Nev Kelapa Gading dealer are part of the strategic decisions taken based on the business considerations that have been thoroughly studied,” said Frietz F Roboth, Brand PR & Digital Manager Neta Auto Indonesia through a short message, Friday (25/4).
“This decision is the result of a joint agreement between the two parties, and is taken by promoting the interests of customers and the continuity of after -sales services going forward,” he added.
According to Frietz this decision did not affect the company’s commitment to support the growth of the electrification vehicle industry in the country.
“We remain fully committed to presenting the best products and services for the people of Indonesia, and continue to strengthen our network and presence nationally,” he said.
The closing of this dealer is estimated to be the only one.Having previously claimed to have operated 20 dealers, Frietz said that consumers still obtain full rights and services in the remaining 13 Neta Indonesia networks.This means, there are six other dealers owned by Neta in Indonesia that have been closed.
