Indonesia is ready and the plan is to produce it starting in 2027. This project collaborates with Pindad and is declared ready in terms of concept, technology, financing and cross-sector support.
“We are optimistic that the concept discussed by Pindad for the national car project is a good path,” said Agus in a written statement quoted on Friday (14/11).

He said that his party continues to accelerate preparations for the national car project as one of the strategic agendas to strengthen the independence of the Indonesian automotive industry.
Then, technical and conceptual discussions on National Mob have also taken place between the Ministry of Industry and Pindad.Agus said this was carried out in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto’s direction so that Indonesia would immediately have a national mob that was produced domestically.

Agus said that the content of the discussions between them focused on a number of details of the fundamental aspects of the national motorbike, starting from the types of vehicles to be produced, pricing strategies, marketing strategies, especially regarding after-sales service.
“We have carried out discussions on strategic concepts to prepare and realize President Prabowo’s direction so that Indonesia will soon have a national car with PT. Pindad,” said Agus.
Agus said that the Ministry of Industry and Pindad had studied the technological concept that would be used as well as the production process.
In the discussion, aspects of financing were also discussed, including funding sources that would be used to support the development of National Mob.
Agus added that the possibility of inviting other partners had been discussed, in order to strengthen production capabilities, funding and technology transfer.
“In our assessment, the National Car concept presented by PT Pindad at the meeting is complete and ready. The National Car concept includes many aspects and dimensions needed in the development of a national car,” explained Agus.
As a supervisor of the industrial sector, including the automotive industry, he said that the Ministry of Industry ensures that it will provide full support so that this project can run well.
This support includes policies, technical facilitation, technology, human resources, as well as aspects of land readiness and industrial infrastructure.
“We provide full support so that this program can run well. This can include technical offers, technology, land preparation and other supporting needs,” he continued.
The Minister of Industry said that the entire preparation process was on the right track, and the government was optimistic that the National Motor Vehicle project would become an important milestone in the history of the national automotive industry.
