Traffic Corps (

) The National Police said that 95 percent of traffic violation enforcement is now handled by electronic traffic law enforcement (
ETLE
).Meanwhile, the remaining 5 percent rely on manual traffic tickets.
“This is my policy as Kakorlantas, 95 percent of Traffic Police will take a legal approach with ETLE,” said Kakorlantas Polri Agus Suryonugroho as quoted from the official website
Police Traffic Corps
.
“5 percent is a (manual) ticket, so the ticket is also important because the ticket still involves communicating or meeting with the violator, that’s why I reduced the portion, so that with ETLE there are no more transactions,” he said again.

Agus also revealed that ETLE’s target is to increase to 1,000 cameras by 2026 specifically for the Polda Metro Jaya jurisdiction.

The addition of ETLE cameras is in line with orders from the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, regarding digitalization.Currently there are only 127 ETLEs in the Jakarta area and its surroundings as well as eight mobile ETLE cameras.
With an electronic ticketing system, it is also hoped that the law enforcement process against traffic violators will be more transparent and avoid illegal levies (extortion).
“So there is no contact between officers, there is no contact between the public and officers so this is truly transparent,” he said.
Apart from that, said Agus, in the future his party will also procure CCTV cameras integrated with ETLE.So far, the number of CCTVs integrated by ETLE is 627 units.
“So, we will verify the 4,500 CCTVs. After we have verified them, we will determine that the CCTVs can be integrated with ETLE. But later we will see the distribution so that 127 ETLEs, perhaps adding 500, will be almost around 627, then we will add more,” he said.
Agus said that enforcement using manual tickets would not be eliminated. However, electronic tickets are preferred in taking action against violators.
