‘Legend’ Oh Sadaharu, expecting WBC Japan’s propaganda “Japan’s pitching power is the best”

Oh Sadaharu (Wang Jeong-chi), who led the Japanese national team to victory in the 2006 World Baseball Classic (WBC), cheered on the juniors’ success.

Nishi-Nippon Sports and other Japanese media reported on the 26th an interview with Chairman Oh, who served as the 2006 WBC Japan national team coach.

Japan, which won the WBC in 2006 and 2009, is aiming for a third title in its career at the 2023 WBC, which will be held in March. Japan was placed in Group B with Korea, Australia, China, and the Czech Republic in the first round.

In Japan, Shohei Ohtani (LA Angels), Seiya Suzuki (Chicago Cubs), Masataka Yoshida (Boston Red Sox), Yu Darvish (San Diego Padres), Munetaka Murakami (Yakult Swallows), and Rocky Sasaki (Chiba Lotte Marines) are among the best. I am preparing for the competition as a member.

Chairman Oh said, “It is a great power because players who have achieved great results in the United States have entered the national team. It will be a strong source of strength for players playing in Japan.” It is the best international competition right now. I hope Japan goes to the United States (where the semifinals are held) and shows the true power of Japanese baseball.”먹튀검증

He continued, “You don’t know what will happen in a short game. It’s important to fight to the end.”

Chairman Oh also emphasized, “I think pitchers are at a high level in Japan. In terms of skill, they can fight on an equal footing with all opponents.”

Regarding coach Hideki Kuriyama, he praised him as “the best person to coach the luxury corps national team”, saying, “He calmly directs the game with a calm feeling and creates a good atmosphere for the players to immerse themselves in the game.”

Chairman Oh also made remarks that seemed to be wary of Korea, which belongs to the same group as Japan.

Japan met Korea in the first round of the invitational tournament and led until the 8th inning, but lost 2-3 to Lee Seung-yeop.

In the second round, Lee Jong-beom allowed a final double in the 8th inning and lost 1-2. However, in the semi-finals, they defeated Korea 6-0 and succeeded in revenge.

Chairman Oh said, “I lost after hitting a come-from-behind home run (to Lee Seung-yeop) in Japan. I went to the United States and lost one more time. It was really nasty that Korea was happy.” He shows great energy. I hope the Korean War will be done properly.”
