As for the provisions for annual STNK validation, Wibowo explained that validation can be carried out through two mechanisms.

First, the public can validate it manually by coming directly to the Samsat service office.Second, you can do it digitally via the official Korlantas Polri Samsat Online SIGNAL application.
“For the annual STNK validation, whether done manually or via the SIGNAL application, people do not need to bring BPKB. They just need to bring their KTP, power of attorney if they are represented, and the original STNK,” he said.
He said that the SIGNAL service is here to make it easier for people to pay taxes and validate STNK every year until the 4th year without having to come to the Samsat office.
However, when entering the 5th year, the STNK extension must be done manually at the Samsat office.
At this stage, people are required to bring original KTP, power of attorney (if represented), STNK, BPKB, and vehicle for physical inspection.
“BPKB and physical checks are needed to ensure the conformity of the vehicle’s identity, including the frame number and engine number, with the documents held. This is an important step to maintain the validity of the data and prevent misuse of vehicle documents,” he said.
Through this confirmation, he hopes that the public will better understand the procedures for validating and extending STNK while also taking advantage of the convenience of digital services such as SIGNAL to speed up the motor vehicle administration process.
