Mitsubishi Destinator
Since its launch in July 2025 it has received a positive response and appreciation from the Indonesian people.
This SUV offers a turbo engine combined with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).The combination produces a powerful and satisfying response.
The all-new Destinator is equipped with a MIVEC 1,500 4B40 turbo engine with 163 Ps of power and 250 Nm of peak torque to drive the front wheels. It features a water cooled intercooler and a high expansion ratio cycle (Atkinson cycle), which enables a combination of powerful acceleration and high fuel efficiency.

Remember that the turbo engine on the Destinator is actually very easy to maintain.Even the care and treatment is the same as a conventional non-turbo combustion engine. No need for special attention.
If previously the turbo engine had to be paused for a while before being turned off after use, then this issue is no longer needed on the Mitsubishi All-New Destinator engine.
“I think for a turbo engine, the key is heat. The hotter the engine is, the more power it uses. So even though the engine is a turbo, there’s no need to rush,” said Rifat Sungkar, Brand Ambassador for Mitsubishi Motors Indonesia.
“Why? That’s why it causes the turbo to work extra. If the turbo works extra, because the system is rotating. The rotating system will produce high heat. The same heat. More power, more energy. You have less power, you have less energy. So we can just believe that the engine has already controlled the power. So there’s no need to provoke it with an aggressive driving style,” said Rifat later.
The existence of a turbo cooling system with a water-to-air principle is able to keep the temperature of the air compressed into the engine stable. So the engine is safe to turn off at any time, quoted from Mitsubishi’s official statement, Monday (15/12).
Even though the care and treatment is the same as conventional machines, Mitsubishi Destinator users are advised to pay attention to the following points:
• Just like cars in general, checking the engine oil in cars with turbos is very necessary. Also pay attention to the recommended engine oil specifications.Don’t forget to change the engine oil, because this turbo really needs very good quality oil to lubricate the important parts inside.
• The recommended fuel for the Mitsubishi Destinator is 95 octane. By using the recommended fuel, especially for turbo engines, vehicle performance will be more optimal, the engine will run smoother, and fuel consumption will be more efficient.
• The performance of a turbo engine is largely determined by the air supply to the engine.Mitsubishi All-New Destinator users should always keep the engine air filter clean so that turbo performance remains optimal.
• If the car will not be used for a long time, you should always warm up the engine. This is so that the oil continues to circulate to the combustion chamber and turbo, so that the internal parts remain well lubricated.
