Honda Prospect Motor (
HPM
) opens up opportunities to present
hybrid car
more affordable prices in Indonesia.This step is being studied and is in the spotlight because Toyota has launched the Veloz Hybrid, the cheapest hybrid car they offer.
Veloz was launched by Toyota at Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2025, at ICE BSD, with a promotional price of IDR 299 million for the cheapest V variant.
The official price is out of the ordinary because the Veloz Hybrid is almost the same as the conventional Veloz variant.The cheapest price for Veloz is IDR 297.2 million, while the most expensive is IDR 346.4 million.

“We always study the market, study what segments are suitable,” said Yusak Billy, Director of Sales, Marketing and After Sales Services at HPM, Friday (21/11).
Honda has been known as a manufacturer that plays in the upper middle segment for electrified vehicles.Honda’s cheapest model in the hybrid segment is the HR-V which is now selling from IDR 449 million.

However, the company recognizes that the lower middle market has increasing potential.
“Yes, we will continue to consider in the future what the market will be like, what segment is most suitable, what model for hybrids in the future,” he said.
This effort, said Billy, is the company’s strategy to meet all the needs of customers in the country.
“Yes, we always look at what consumers’ needs and desires are. We will adjust,” he said.
Reflecting on Honda’s seven-passenger line-up, the BR-V might be one that is suitable for conversion as a hybrid car, considering that the Mobilio has been euthanized.However, when asked about this, Billy was reluctant to comment further.
“I can’t say or talk about that now,” said Billy.
