Astra Honda Motor (
AHM
) is one of the most aggressive manufacturers because it has released at least 17 new motorbikes throughout 2025. However, amidst the intense launch activity, sales of their motorbike products have not recorded a significant increase.
Honda has just released its 17th model, namely the Vario 125 facelift and added the Vario Street 125 variant which has naked handlebars or what is usually called naked.
On the other hand, based on company information, Honda motorbike sales only increased 0.08 percent in the January-October 2025 period, compared to the previous year.

According to AHM Marketing Director Octavianus Dwi, basically the presence of a new product does not always have to have a significant impact on increasing sales. This is common in the automotive business.

For him, the presence of new products is aimed more at strengthening Honda’s foundation, as well as being the company’s effort to present motorbikes that suit people’s needs.
“What I said is that launching a product is not just about taking sales. But there is something that strengthens or fills the segment,” said Octavianus in Cikarang, West Java, Monday (1/12).
“I’ll take an example, for example when the Stylo goes up, it doesn’t automatically die, right. But there is a wedge. So actually we are trying to strengthen it,” he said again.
More than that, he believes that sales of Honda motorbikes during 2025 will actually experience a significant increase. This is proven through retail data, not wholesale data as uploaded by the association every month.
Retail is defined as direct sales from dealers to consumers, while wholesale is the activity of distributing vehicles from factories to dealers. However, Octa is reluctant to elaborate further on the retail figures.
“The increase is actually significant. What AISI usually releases is wholesale, distribution. So we can’t say that it represents the real market,” said Octavianus.
Honda motorbike market until October
Sales of new motorbikes in Indonesia in the January-October 2025 period reached 5,427,253 units.Of this figure, almost 80 percent comes from the Honda brand.
Honda remains the market leader with sales domination of 4.2 million units or around 77 percent control, far above its rivals from fellow members of the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI) such as Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki and TVS.
Ahmad Muhibbuddin, General Manager of Corporate Communication at AHM previously stated that Honda motorbike sales continued to show a positive trend with a slight increase, only 0.08 percent compared to January-October 2024.
