Honda Beat
is still the main choice for residents of Garut, West Java for mobility matters. This 110 cc engine scooter has succeeded in dominating the Honda motorbike market in an area dominated by the highlands.
Handi, General Manager of Motorcycle Sales, Marketing and Logistics at PT Daya Adibuat Motora, said that even though Garut is dominated by high mountainous land, the characteristics of the surrounding community are that not many people look at large two-wheeled vehicles.

Even so, Handi did not elaborate further on how much Beat sales are on a monthly or annual basis in Garut.
“So, for example, Bekasi or Bandung have a lot of PCX or Vario, well here it’s Beat,” said Handi in Garut, West Java, Saturday (15/11).

According to him, Beat is the main choice of the majority of Garut residents, not without reason.Handi said, this scooter is not only pocket friendly, but also has an attractive design, is fuel efficient, and most importantly a ‘rhino’ engine for devouring various road terrains.
“So even though the mountains are like this, the Beat engine is strong. The proof is that many Garut people go to Bandung, Tasik, it’s safe,” said Handi.
He continued that the Honda two-wheel market in Garut is promising, although in terms of volume it is not as big as other cities in West Java such as Bandung, Depok, Bogor and Cikarang.
“Garut is not number one in West Java, because of the difference in population. But, Garut is still okay,” said Handi.
Beat is one of Honda’s best-selling entry-level scooter models in the country. This model has undergone various updates, starting from replacing the frame, design, to refreshing features.
This motorbike has a length of 1,868 mm, a width of 745 mm, a height of 1,058 mm, a wheelbase of 1,251, and a ground clearance of 148 mm.
The company designed the Beat with a frame called eSAF (enhance Smart Architecture Frame), while the engine used is a 109.5 cc four-stroke SOHC with eSP technology.
According to Honda, the engine can produce 9 ps at 7,500 rpm and 9.2 nm of torque at 6,000 rpm.
