Andry did not elaborate on the specific factory in question, but his suspicions were that it focused on Nissan’s production house in Indonesia.
Previously it was known that Indomobil, through its subsidiary, National Assemblers (NA), had acquired 99.9 percent of the shares in Nissan Motor Indonesia (NMI).This step puts NA in full control of the Nissan factory in Purwakarta, West Java.

The location of the former Nissan factory is understood to be close to NA’s assembly house which has been operating and producing GAC Aion cars in Indonesia since June 2025. The existence of the new factory will certainly expand their production capacity in the country.
“The capacity of the newly acquired factory can be up to 100 thousand cars per year,” he said.
According to Andry, Indomobil’s move to invest in a factory in Indonesia is the right decision because they need to boost production to anticipate a surge in demand from various brands including Aion.
Indomobil manages a number of passenger and commercial car brands in Indonesia, such as Maxus, JAC Motors, GWM, Changan, Jeep, Mercedes-Benz, GACĀ Aion, Citroen, Land Rover, Jaguar, Kia, Suzuki, Nissan, Volvo, Hino, Volkswagen, and most recently Hongqi.
“We are still pursuing production because especially our demand is still there for the UT and V models. So it’s not just about how much
orders
We can, but increasing production capacity must be gradual. And us
must
concerned because Indomobil has
invest
there are so many factories,” he said.
Currently, Aion occupies the 14th best-selling brand position in the country with retail sales of 5,062 units or a market share of 0.8 percent as of January-October 2025, according to data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo).
