, talks about the opportunity to set up a factory in Indonesia.According to them, this is a step to expand investment commitments and an effort to increase the vehicle line-up in the country.
“So currently we are studying the possibility of local assembly in Indonesia,” said Roelof Lamberts, Regional Director of RMA Indonesia in Jakarta, Tuesday (11/11).

He said that Ford was committed to increasing its investment in the country.He said this would not be done through expanding dealers, but also building factories.
“Yes, I have said before that we are ready to invest in Indonesia. So, this includes investment in the dealer network in Indonesia, and this shows that we are very confident and optimistic about Ford’s potential in Indonesia,” said Roelof.

Regarding when the factory will be built, Roelof estimates it will be two years away, which means it will start in 2027.
“I hope I don’t have to wait long. My ambition is to do it sooner,” he said.
More than that, Roelof gave a hint regarding the possibility of Ford building a factory in the West Java area.However, this cannot be explained further because it is still in the internal study stage.
“The plan is in West Java, but I cannot explain it at this time, because we are still in the negotiation stage and studying it further,” he said.
Ford is the only brand from the United States remaining in Indonesia.This year, Ford only has a 0.1 percent share of the retail market with sales during January-October of 676 units.
There are three main models marketed, including Everest, Ranger and Mustang.Almost all the models sold are imported intact or CBU from Thailand.
