In addition, the Perodua QV-E is the first Malaysian vehicle model to undergo a Child Presence Detection (CPD) functionality assessment using direct-sensing technology under the ASEAN NCAP 2021-2025 protocol.
This achievement then answers concerns regarding the safety and risk of children being left behind in vehicles.
Most importantly, the car has prioritized safety by ensuring the QV-E is equipped with essential safety features as standard equipment.
The QV-E comes with the flagship Child Presence Detection (CPD) feature, a battery subscription mechanism, and the fastest acceleration among all Perodua models.
The CPD safety feature is understood to issue a warning if there are small children or pets in the car. This system works to detect movement and vital signs, such as breathing, even if the movement is covered by a cloth or blanket.
Perodua President and CEO Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad said that all QV-E features take into account the latest functionality, with safety and comfort aspects that have been tested through in-depth research.
“As a result, this model is proof of the cooperation of the Malaysian people in creating something that is their identity, from design to engineering, QV-E opens a path that is beneficial for all,” he said in an official statement.
The QV-E is equipped with a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery with a capacity of 52.5 kW and a claimed distance of up to 445 kilometers using the NEDC method.
This latest model also offers the fastest acceleration among other Perodua models, namely 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, thanks to power coming from a front-mounted electric motor capable of producing 204 Ps (around 150 kW) and 285 Nm of torque.
The company targets to produce 500 QV-E units a month.
