What the government promised this year was too late.He hoped that the incentive would be better given in 2026.
“If I pay attention in 2025, it seems to be late,” said Chairman Aismoli Budi Setiyadi in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Tuesday (9/16).
“Except, the government held it with a multi-years scheme. So it means that in December (this year), it was not stopped like last year,” he said again.
This year only leaves at least three months, which is considered ineffective to boost the sale of electric motorcycles until the end of the year with incentives.Budi hopes that the incentive will be given across 2025 or deemed better starting next year.
“So our hope, if there is no multi-year scheme, maybe in 2025, it’s already responsible. Maybe in 2026, at the beginning of the year if possible, it has started or in December has been informed,” he said.
In 2024 the government provided an incentive of Rp. 7 million for each purchase of electric motorcycles.However, this gift is limited to a quota of 60 thousand units and has expired in September 2024 and then stopped.
Since then the government has thrown a discourse to provide further incentives but has never come until now.The producers and sellers of electric motorbikes were devastated and then the sale of falling out.
This month the Ministry of Industry delivered a new incentive scheme design and was waiting for the decision of the Ministry of Economy.
The Ministry of Economy said that he had received a letter from the Ministry of Industry about the incentive and immediately reviewed for the making of detailed rules.
It is planned that the electric motor incentive will be combined into a package of economic stimulus in the third quarter (July-September) 2025.
