PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) is conducting a study to produce
Daihatsu Rocky Hybrid
In Karawang, West Java.Because the opportunity for Daihatsu’s first hybrid car is produced in the country.
“We are doing a study that requires enough time, just wait whether we will remain Completely Built Up (CBU) or we will produce it locally,” said Marketing Director and Corporate Communication Director of PT ADM, Sri Agung Handayani in Jakarta, Friday (22/8).
Rocky Hybrid was launched at Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025. Throughout GIIAS 2025, ADM managed to pocket a vehicle booking letter (SPK a total of 147 units from a total of 580 SPK.
“The interest from the public is also very good, we will introduce it in other cities after in Jakarta,” Agung said.
Rocky Hybrid or Rocky Esmart Hybrid is equipped with a 3-cylinder 1 1,200 cc WA-VX cycle engine, but does not work to rotate the wheels but is in charge of a generator to charge the battery.
While the driving wheels in front are powered by 104.5 HP electric motors and 170 Nm of torque.Thanks to this system the driver is 100 percent feeling driving an electric car.
Acceleration to 100 km per hour from a stationary position can be reached in 10.36 seconds.
Based on the calculation of the Japan Cycle ’08 (JC08) method, this car fuel consumption is 34.5 km per liter, but when tested using the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Cycle (WLTC) method in Japan, Rocky which has a 33 liter fuel tank only gets an efficiency figure of 28 km per liter.
