Indonesia stated that it remains optimistic about becoming the second best-selling brand this year even though many new brands have emerged from China.
According to data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), retail sales in January-October 2025 were 660,659 units, down 9.6 percent from the same period last year.

Daihatsu sales also fell by 21.3 percent.Even so, Daihatsu holds a market share of 17 percent with a record 112,530 units and maintains its position at number two best-selling brand, below Toyota and above Honda, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and BYD.
“This is an achievement for 17 consecutive years. Our target is to maintain our position and we are optimistic that we will survive until the end of this year,” said Marketing and Customer Relations Division Head PT Astra International Tbk – Daihatsu Sales Operation (AI DSO) Tri Mulyono in his official statement, Thursday (4/12).

Tri said that Daihatsu is still the choice of consumers because it is strong in after-sales service which is supported by a wide network reaching remote areas.
Currently Daihatsu has 177 workshops throughout Indonesia with a total of 1,534 technicians.
Deputy After Sales Service & Logistics Division Head AI-DSO Yanuar Krisna explained that even though people’s purchasing power has decreased, Daihatsu is still trying to provide excellent after-sales.

Daihatsu is said to be serving consumers during the Christmas holiday on December 25-28.There are 55 standby workshops prepared for all cities in Indonesia.
Not only that, there are also service program offers at special prices.There is a 20 percent discount on services, a 10 percent discount on materials, a special price for engine boosters and a special vitality car package (vitality check, clean and mandatory check) of IDR 50 thousand.
Daihatsu assesses that Indonesia’s economic conditions will improve.Optimism also comes from the statement by Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa who is confident that by the end of this year Indonesia’s economic growth will soar from 5.6 percent to 5.7 percent.
Tri said Daihatsu remains confident that it can achieve positive market share and maintain its position in second place.
“The economy looks to be improving, the hope is that consumers who want to buy will be more firm, as long as the option tax doesn’t interfere,” said Tri.
