To reduce vehicle density during the Christmas and New Year 2026 period, the police are preparing to engineer traffic through the system

or go against the flow on the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) and Jakarta-Bogor-Ciawi (Jagorawi) toll roads.
Contraflow
will be held on the Japek Toll Road KM 47 to KM 70 towards Cikampek, then the Japek Toll Road KM 70 to KM 47 towards Jakarta, and the Jagorawi Toll Road KM 21 to KM 8 towards Jakarta.

Peak current
The DKI Jakarta Transportation Department (Dishub) previously estimated that the peak flow of homecoming during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holidays would be December 19 and 20 2025.
“Because the school holidays started on December 22, so usually as soon as the school holidays start, on Friday there will be a surge at terminals in Jakarta,” said Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, as quoted by Antara, Thursday (18/12).
Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi projects that 119.5 million people will potentially travel both outside and within the province, during the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 holidays. The majority of them will use private cars and motorbikes.
