) will hold a meeting to discuss car sales this year.One of the discussion points was about sales targets after reflecting on the automotive market situation which is currently experiencing shrinkage.
The emergence of various Chinese car brands is considered unable to boost vehicle sales this year.
According to Jongkie Sugiarto, Chairman I of Gaikindo, the meeting will be attended by all members to determine new numbers.

“Until the end of the year, we will revise the target,” said Jongkie Sugiarto, Chairman I of Gaikindo at ICE BSD last week.

Jongkie explained that meetings and revisions might be carried out after they complete the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) exhibition which ends November 30 2025.
“After GJAW 2025, we will gather with the members to determine which direction the sales target for 2025 will go,” said Jongkie.
Jongkie doesn’t want to talk about the latest figures as the new target for national car sales.He said this had not been determined.
“No, the meeting hasn’t been (held). So, the numbers haven’t been determined yet. All members have a vote,” he said.
Sales of new cars throughout this year have shown signs of not meeting the target of 900 thousand units.A number of factors contributed to the target not being met, but the most important was people’s purchasing power as a result of an economy that had not improved.
As of October 2025, national car sales will reach 635,844 units.This figure did not meet expectations.
Dozens of Gaikindo members should sell at least 264,156 units over two months, or 132,078 per month, in order to achieve this year’s target.
