Chinese Car Brands Increase, Changan Officially Enters Indonesia

, officially entered the Indonesian market.This government-owned manufacturer promises to launch two car models in time, then three more models by 2028.
Changan’s business operations in Indonesia operate in collaboration with the Indomobil group.This collaboration also confirms Indomobil’s long-term commitment to expanding its portfolio and accelerating the development of the electric vehicle industry in Indonesia.

“The presence of Changan in Indonesia is not just introducing a new automotive brand, but presenting a new perspective in mobility,” said Andrew Nasuri, Director of Indomobil Group at the launch of the new Changan brand in Jakarta, Wednesday (19/11).
“Together with Changan Automobile, we aim to present solutions that combine global technology with a deep understanding of local needs, thereby creating a safe, efficient and connected driving experience,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ye Pei, Senior Executive Vice President of Changan Automobile, explained that Indonesia has a strategic position in developing green mobility in Southeast Asia.
“Through our partnership with the Indomobil Group, we are committed to building a strong foundation that includes world-class products, technology and services to support the transition to electrification in Indonesia,” said Pei.
As an opening product, the company plans to launch two cars in Indonesia, namely the Deepal S07 and Lumin EV.
The Deepal S07 is a battery-based 5 passenger SUV equipped with a 214.5 hp electric motor with 320 Nm of torque.This power is capable of making the car accelerate from 0-100 km in 7.5 seconds, while the cruising range is 560 km on one full battery charge.
Meanwhile, the Lumin is a citycar with a 48 hp electric motor that is channeled to the front wheels.The distance reached 300 kilometers on one battery charge.
Andrew Nasuri added that the two models will be launched for the first time at the 2025 Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) event which will take place from 21 to 30 November 2025.
“We invite all automotive fans to witness the official debut of Changan’s first two models at GJAW and together start the journey towards the future of Indonesian mobility,” said Andrew.
