Indonesian sales have opened their voices regarding the case of failure to climb during an extreme test involving the Fengyun X3L SUV sold in China.This incident was caught on camera and went viral on social media.
In his written statement, Chery revealed that the trial took place at the Tianmen Mountain Tourist Area, Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province, on November 12 2025 local time.

This extreme test aims to repeat the iconic action of the Range Rover Sport in 2018 when it successfully climbed the 999 steps to Heavens Gate in China.
In the video circulating on social media, the Fengyun X3L is seen experiencing problems before it reaches half way.The car then lost traction and then reversed down the slope until the rear hit the fence.

According to Chery, the incident was an unexpected incident.
“On November 12 2025 at 12.00 local time, the Fengyun
Chery explained that the results of the initial investigation showed that the problem occurred because the main hook of the safety rope suddenly came loose.When the hook was released, the rope became free and then caught on the right wheel of the vehicle and lost traction, slid backwards and hit the guard rail.
“This resulted in partial damage to the fence,” said Chery.
Chery also ensured that this incident did not cause any casualties or damage to the surrounding natural environment.
“This incident shows our negligence in carrying out risk assessments and a lack of detailed control in the process of planning and implementing the test, but the incident could not be avoided,” said Chery.
“We are also aware of and deeply reflect the public’s concerns regarding our decision to conduct extreme tests in public tourist areas. We will use this incident as a valuable lesson to move more carefully and more maturely in the future,” said Chery again.
Chery apologized for the incident that took place.
“We express our deepest apologies to the management of the Tianmen Mountain Tourist Area, tourists, partners and all parties who paid attention to this incident,” concluded Chery.
