Suzuki Indomobil Sales
(SIS) ensures that all car models sold in Indonesia are compatible with using gasoline with a mixture of 10 percent ethanol or E10.
According to Dony, all Suzuki petrol engine cars have been adapted to be flexible with various types of fuel, one of which is bioethanol.However, this applies only to products released from 2018.
“Yes, 10 percent for all Suzuki car models,” said Dony Ismi Saputra, Deputy of Sales & Marketing Managing Director of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) at Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2025, ICE BSD, last week.

“So since 2018 we have been complaining,” said Dony later.
In Indonesia, Suzuki sells the Grand Vitara, XL7, Ertiga, Jimny, Fronx, APV Arena, Carry pickup and S Presso.

The government will apply E10 to all domestic gasoline products starting in 2027. Meanwhile, for diesel, Biodiesel B50 will be implemented in 2026.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia said mandatory E10 had been discussed with President Prabowo Subianto and it had been agreed to implement it.
E10 aims to reduce domestic oil imports by utilizing abundant natural resources.One of them is from sugar cane plants to be used as ethanol.
Based on the portion, currently 60 percent of fuel used for consumption still comes from imports.Therefore, for domestic energy independence, the government must use the resources it has.
Apart from reducing imports, added Bahlil, mandatory E10 also aims to support the commitment to environmentally friendly clean energy or Net Zero Emission (NZE) by 2060.
“In this way, we will mix our gasoline with ethanol. The aim is, so that we don’t import a lot and also to make clean, environmentally friendly oil,” he explained.
Bahlil estimates that its implementation could take effect in the next 2-3 years or in 2027 or 2028.
