BYD
has been selling its electric car products in Indonesia for two years.According to company records, they have sold 51,700 units of electric cars from January 2024 to October 2025.
Eagle Zhao, President Director of BYD Motor Indonesia, said that for two years in Indonesia, the company has continued to present a line-up that suits people’s needs and preferences.
“We are not just coming to bring products, but we are bringing a vision for a cleaner and better future,” said Eagle in a written statement, Wednesday (26/11).

If the numbers are broken down, the M6 electric MPV is dominant with sales of more than 15,700 units, followed by the Sealion 7 which recorded more than 7,500 units in just a few months since its launch.
Meanwhile, Atto 1 recorded more than 8,400 units, which also emerged as one of the fastest growing and phenomenal models.

Then Seal, Atto 3, and Dolphin recorded more than 5,700 units, 5,400 units and 1,700 units respectively.
Meanwhile, the premium sub brand Denza D9 contributed more than 6,700 sales units and BYD e6 in the commercial segment recorded more than 600 sales units.
Eagle emphasized that BYD’s steps are not only about presenting products, but also building a strong ecosystem foundation, starting from public education, network expansion, to recognition from the media and the national automotive industry.
Now, the company is also building an electric car assembly factory in Subang, West Java.
The factory, with a capacity of 150 thousand units per year and an investment value of IDR 11.2 trillion, has reportedly entered the final stage of development.The company believes the factory will be ready to operate in the first quarter of 2026.
“Through innovation, education and continuous collaboration, we will continue to open access to mobility that is safer, more efficient and easily accessible to all levels of Indonesian society,” said Eagle.
