Atto 1 experienced an increase after making a positive achievement as the best-selling car during October 2025. It was not stated when the decision came into effect, but the price adjustment reached IDR 4 million for the cheapest variant.
Currently the standard variant of the BYD Atto 1 is selling for IDR 199 million compared to previously being sold for IDR 195 million.Meanwhile, the price for the highest variant has not changed, IDR 235 million.
“So it has increased for the lower variant,” said Luther T. Panjaitan as Head of Public and Government Relations BYD Motor Indonesia at Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2025, ICE BSD, Friday (21/11).

Luther said there were a number of reasons why the company raised the price of the Atto 1, one of which was related to exchange rate fluctuations because the car was imported.
“One of the reasons why we are still import-based is exchange rate fluctuations. So you have to consider it because this is an entry level model,” he said.

“Secondly, currently the demand is quite high. We also need to meet customer expectations. Meeting customer expectations also requires investment to improve service. One of them can be network, people, then distribution, logistics,” he said.
“Well, we need a space to be able to optimize that. So you increase the price slightly from the lowest type. For the highest type, we feel it is still acceptable at that level. So we can continue to serve customers well,” he added.
BYD is currently still the main brand for electric car sales in Indonesia, with a market share from January to October 2025 of 54 percent or more than 37,600 units.
During October, BYD’s sales also jumped significantly through Atto 1 distribution figures to dealers.
Referring to data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), the distribution of Atto 1 contributed almost 90 percent or reached 9,396 units, while BYD’s total wholesales were 10,593 units.
This means that other BYD models such as the M6, Seal, Atto 3, Dholpin, and even the Sealion 7, only distributed 1,197 units to dealers throughout the month.
This figure also automatically makes the Atto 1 the first electric car to reach the top of the best-selling car standings in the country, displacing the subscription model, namely the Toyota Kijang Innova.
