Indonesia officially launched the BJ30 Hybrid SUV with a front-wheel drive system, aka FWD.This is an additional variant which is priced at a more affordable price than the 4×4 version.
Dhani Yahya, Chief Operating Officer of BAIC Indonesia, said that the presence of the FWD variant is the company’s effort to expand consumer choice of BAIC vehicles in the country.
“With the debut of the BJ30 Hybrid FWD, we are expanding the choices for consumers who want a modern and efficient hybrid SUV, while further strengthening BAIC’s position in the medium hybrid SUV segment in Indonesia,” said Dhani at the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW), ICE BSD Tangerang.

Even though they differ in wheel drive systems, the BJ30 Hybrid FWD and AWD are both equipped with a “Smart Magic Core Hybrid” engine and also a “Dedicated Hybrid Transmission” transmission system.

This model also has a spacious interior of up to 1500 liters which can accommodate the entire family up to 3 children or the equivalent of 6 large suitcases or 2 adult folding bicycles.Meanwhile, the airtightness of the cabin is supported by double layer glass at the front.
From a safety perspective, both BJ30 Hybrid variants are equipped with 12 types of Adaptive Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with camera and radar support that monitor surrounding conditions in 360 degrees with a range of up to 200 meters.
According to Dhany, with a more affordable price, the company has not reduced the safety, comfort and performance features of this vehicle at all.
During GJAW 2025, BAIC is offering a special price for the BJ30 FWD to IDR 499 million (from the normal price of IDR 529 million) and the 4×4 version is selling for IDR 575 million, from IDR 605 million.All prices have Jabodetabek OTR status.
Every purchase will also get free periodic maintenance for up to 4.5 years or 45 thousand km.Then there is a five-year or 150 thousand km guarantee, covering important components and comprehensive protection against potential unwanted damage.
There is also 24 hour Emergency Roadside Assistance (ERA) for 5 years.These services include towing services, flat tire assistance, emergency fuel delivery, jump start batteries, and ambulance services in big cities.
