Baek Seung-ho’s thrilling winter training from ‘Barsa Youth’… “Feels like going home”

Baek Seung-ho (25) visits Barcelona for field training three and a half years after leaving Spain. 

Jeonbuk Hyundai will head to Barcelona, ​​Spain, a training ground ahead of the 2023 season on January 16th. Jeonbuk will conduct a month-long field training in Spain from the 16th to the 15th of February. 

Baek Seung-ho also heads to Barcelona with Jeonbuk.

A native of Barcelona, ​​he will visit Barcelona again in three and a half years since the summer of 2019, when he transferred from Girona (Spain) to Darmstadt (Germany). 

Baek Seung-ho started growing in his youth team in 2010 at Maetan Middle School in Suwon after signing a contract with Spain’s La Liga prestigious Barcelona. 

Baek Seung-ho, who grew up in Barcelona’s youth academy ‘La Masia’, was disciplined for violating the youth player recruitment policy set by FIFA (International Football Federation) at the time in 2014 and was restricted from participating for one year. and got a chance to compete again. 

After twists and turns, Baek Seung-ho got a chance in Barcelona. During the A match break, he trained with Barcelona’s key players at the time, such as Lionel Messi (Argentina), Xavi, and Andres Iniesta (above Spain), showing the possibility of his first team debut.  메이저놀이터

However, Baek Seung-ho, who gradually lost his chance after his debut in Barcelona B team, chose to transfer.

After signing a contract with Girona in the summer of 2017, Baek Seung-ho moved to a new team for the first time. He finally made his dream debut on the La Liga stage with Girona in the 2018/19 season. 

Afterwards, Baek Seung-ho moved to Germany and spent a season and a half in Darmstadt in the second division before moving to Jeonbuk in January 2021.

Finding an opportunity to play, he accumulated experience by playing 2770 minutes in 31 official matches, including 25 K League 1 matches in the 2021 season. In the 2022 season, he played a total of 40 games, 3390 minutes, scored 3 goals and 6 assists, and accumulated more attack points. 

After gaining experience in Jeonbuk, former national soccer team coach Paulo Bento called Baek Seung-ho again after October 2019.

Baek Seung-ho, who has been called steadily since October 2021, eventually boarded as a member of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, debuted through the round of 16 in Brazil and even scored a debut goal. 

Baek Seung-ho returns to Barcelona where he spent his childhood in a more mature form.

He couldn’t hide his excitement, saying, “It feels like going home. Everyone around me asks (about Barcelona). It would be nice to go and watch the game.”

He said, “He was my childhood coach, and now the first team physical coach treats me a lot and is a close coach. He asks me to come and have a meal. The players and coaches I lived with are in touch.”
