Astra Group controls 54 percent of the national car market share

Still showing dominance in the national car market competition map during July 2025.
This achievement is even higher if broken down by the January-July 2025 period, where the largest automotive group in Indonesia managed to pocket 54 percent of the market share.
In the wholesales data distributed by Astra International, the company packaged distribution from the factory to the dealer of 39,155 units in July, while the January-July period reached 290,585 units.
The largest contributors clearly come from Toyota Plus Lexus as many as 19,006 units, Daihatsu 10,451 units, Isuzu 2,190 units, and UD Truck 125 units.
While the January-July period, Toyota-Lexus successfully distributed 143,849 units, Daihatsu 74,856 units, Isuzu 13,465 units, and UD Truck packing 1,235 units.
“Until July 2025, Astra recorded a market share of 54% and remained consistent in presenting a variety of vehicle choices according to the needs of the community in various segments, supported by a sales network and integrated sales services throughout Indonesia,” said Head of Corporate Communications Astra Windy Riswantyo in his written statement quoted Wednesday (13/8).
Still in the same data, brands outside Astra contributed 28,780 units during July and January-July 201,986 units.
The details for July, Mitsubishi 6,882 units, Honda 5,235 units, Suzuki 6,010 units, Hyundai 1,239 units, 1,256 units, 1,593 units, byd Denza 2,858 units, others 3,707 units.
The market weakened
Overall wholesales or distribution from the factory to dealers did look a little better, which increased 4.8 percent in July 2025 to 60,552, while June 57,799 units.
But the July 2025 wholesales swooped 18.4 percent after being comparated with a similar month in 2024 of 74,230 units.
Then the slight increase also occurred in July retail by 1.8 percent to 62,770 units compared to June.However, when compared to July 2024, the decline was quite in 17 percent, from the previous 75,588 units.
For sales January-July 2025 decreased, namely 10.8 percent, from 508,041 units to 453,278 units in the same period last year.
Next wholesales January-July 2025 receded 10.1 percent, in which in the first seven months 2024 distribution reached 484,250 units, while now 435,390 units.
