The ruler of the Indonesian motorbike market, Honda, has spoken out regarding President Prabowo Subianto’s statement regarding his ambition to create Indonesia
national motorbike

Prabowo is optimistic that this plan can be realized so that national motorbikes can be mass produced in the near future.

Astra Honda Motor (AHM) welcomed this, although they admitted that there had been no further explanation of Prabowo’s plans so far.
“Yes, so far it’s only been declared. We’ll just have to wait and see what it’s like,” said AHM Marketing Director Octavianus Dwi in Cikarang, West Java, Monday (1/12).

A national motorbike made by the nation’s children is Prabowo’s new dream in the automotive arena, after previously assigning his assistants to make a national car.
“We will have our own cars made in Indonesia, motorbikes made in Indonesia,” said Prabowo, November 2025.

Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang previously revealed that the Indonesian national car concept was ready and was planned to be produced starting in 2027.
This project collaborated with Pindad and was declared ready in terms of concept, technology, financing and cross-sector support.
“We are optimistic that the concept discussed by Pindad for the national car project is a good path,” said Agus.
On that occasion, Agus also talked about the possibility of inviting other partners to strengthen production capabilities, funding and technology transfer related to national cars.
So it is not impossible, in the future the development of national motorbikes may involve other parties, including established two-wheel manufacturers so that this project can run more perfectly.
