BYD buyer queue
Atto 1
Has snaking long so that the distribution is now running relay.BYD Motor Indonesia explained that some of the initial buyers at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) were promised to get a unit in December.
Head of Public and Government Relations BYD Motor Indonesia, Luther T. Panjaitan, said that his party had indeed promised that the delivery of units would be carried out in October.But now consumers who come later need to queue longer.
“So I think (buyers) in the middle of GIIAS have started to enter November and now someone has touched December,” he said in Yogyakarta, Wednesday (8/13).
Luther said that his party would try as much as possible to distribute Atto 1 to keep the distribution promise and customer satisfaction.
He said BYD had experienced something like this last year, but he said that at this time the company already had more salespeople, logistics and distribution.
“We experienced this from the previous year, at that time our sales network was not as pumped now. The number of salespeople, logistics staff, distribution, was all inadequate as it is now and we also keep improving,” he said.
Luther did not want to answer straightforwardly when asked how many SPK Atto 1 during GIIAS 2025 was held from July 23 to August 3.He only answered the total SPK obtained by 4,195 including Atto 1.
He was also not open when questioned question percentage of Atto 1 contribution in the total SPK.
“But there are many experiences of our activities on the Auto Show, usually the launching units are always quite dominant, not significant, but the percentage I cannot disclose because it is still in the calculation stage,” he said.
Although not explicit, Luther’s explanation indicates that the buyer of Atto 1 has been overflowing to exceed its distribution ability per month.If the buyer at GIIAS 2025 will receive a unit in December, it means that the proposal to ATTO 1 outside the exhibition is likely to get it next year.
